Three controls that lift authorization 6.2%
Tollgate scores every transaction, retries soft declines on a second acquirer, and pays out on your schedule. Merchants using smart routing moved authorization from 84.1% to 90.3%.
Median migration is nine working days
Tollgate imports your existing card tokens, runs both gateways in parallel while you verify, then cuts traffic over on your schedule.
01
Import your tokens
Send a PCI-format export from Stripe, Braintree or Adyen. Tollgate returns matching token IDs in under an hour.
02
Run both in parallel
Route 5% of live traffic through Tollgate and compare authorization side by side. Both gateways stay armed.
03
Cut over when ready
Move the remaining 95% with one dashboard switch. Rollback takes the same click and completes in under 30 seconds.

One API call covers cards, wallets and bank debits
Charge a card, pull an ACH debit, or take an Apple Pay tap through the same endpoint. Tollgate normalizes the response shape, so your reconciliation code stays identical across all twelve methods.
Recurring billing
Subscriptions, retries and dunning run inside the gateway.

Every charge, refund and payout in one ledger
The dashboard shows each transaction with its acquirer, network response code and fee, updated within four seconds of the event.
Filter by method, country or risk score, export to CSV, or pull the same rows from the reporting API. Finance teams close the month against Tollgate instead of three separate acquirer statements.

What changed for three merchants
Each figure below is one the finance team can pull from their own dashboard.
Authorization went from 84.1% to 90.3% in the first six weeks. That is roughly $310,000 a year we had been writing off as declines.
Priya Raghunathan
Head of Payments, Kettle and Spoke, Austin TX
We moved 41,000 stored cards off our old gateway in nine working days. Two failed to map, and both were already expired.
Daniel Okonjo
VP Engineering, Northmoor Rentals, Chicago IL
Month end close dropped from eleven days to four, because fees and payouts now reconcile in a single export.

Card data never lands
Tokenization happens in the browser through Tollgate.js. Your servers receive a token, and your PCI scope stays at SAQ A.
Keys you can rotate
Restricted API keys scope to a single endpoint and rotate on a schedule. Every call is logged with its key ID for seven years.
Data you can take back
Tokens export in PCI format on 24 hours notice. Deletion runs within 30 days and returns a signed certificate.
Questions merchants ask before they switch
Pricing, migration, timelines and card data, answered before you talk to anyone. Anything not covered here is answered by support within one business day.
What does Tollgate actually cost?
1.4% plus 20 cents per successful charge, dropping to 1.1% above $250k a month. Failed charges cost nothing, chargebacks cost $15, and there is no monthly platform fee or setup fee.
How long until we are live?
Median migration is nine working days. A test charge runs in about 20 minutes, and most of the nine days is you comparing both gateways on live traffic before cutting over.
What happens to my stored cards?
Tollgate imports your existing tokens in PCI format and returns matching IDs within an hour. Your saved cards keep working, and the same export runs in reverse if you ever leave.
Does card data touch our servers?
It never does. Tollgate.js tokenizes in the browser, so your servers only ever hold a token and your PCI scope stays at SAQ A. The Level 1 attestation and the SOC 2 Type II report are both downloadable.
